Thursday June 11th

hello all,
well, we are doing just splendidly here; Denise is truly vibrant and looking a feeling well.
yesterday we had a lecture from Charlotte Gerson; she is 87 years old and straight as a ramrod, no degenerative diseases, sharp as a tack and funny too....so i guess there is something to this lifestyle!!!!

our days as i said before are just filled with taking care of business, Denise is almost up to the full regimen now and doing just splendidly....our meal times are so lovely...we take about 90 minutes or more just eating and chatting with the other folks here
as you can see from the photo, we go through a lot of fruits and veggies every day here..and a lot from California, as you might expect.
the one in the dining room gives a glimpse of our lovely companions.

unfortunately today, Maria (from New York)(see photo from last week with her daughter Cynthia) decided to go home; she has a degenerative back disease, as well as lymphoma, and her back has been hurting her a lot (the beds are not the best and for her she could just not get comfortable) so she has learned what to do for the therapy at home and both of her kids have had the chance to be here with her and so she will be better in her own bed. we are sad to see her leave, but no sleep is not a good thing, so we understand her decision.

it is really great to see Alexander (from Romania) doing so well, when i arrived here on Sunday he was gray and looked really bad, and now in just a few days he has color and was smiling yesterday....his wife is just a doll, she spends a lot of the day with him in the room...he is still mostly in bed...but we have had the chance to chat with her at meal times. yesterday she showed us photos of their daughter who is 19 and dances with the Vienna Ballet Company....a beautiful girl.

As Denise said, everyone has their stories.

well today is gray and a little cooler so it might be indoor Canasta today:)

Denise and i were going to get a massage therapist in, but have decided we know enough to massage one another...i have training in this field so don't worry, i won't hurt her:)!!

we hope that all of you at home are well and happy
lots of love
Denise and Hilary

Quote of the Day

" If we truly want to create a life that is grounded in basic well-being we must decide to commit ourselves to learning what it takes to thrive instead of merely survive"

Wednesday June 10th

Hi Gang
Hilary here; not a whole lot to report really Denise is doing much much better; back on the regimen and looking great.
i have to say i am feeling great too:)there is definitely something in this.

we had a couple of games of Canasta...i was playing with Martin (another Brit) and Denise was playing with his wife Margit......all i can say is "Rule Britannia"!!! we won by more than a 1000 points! needless to say there will be a rematch today:)

i just met Charlotte Gerson for the first time...what a powerhouse...she is so vibrant and looks amazing..she will hold a lecture later today..which i am looking forward to.

Over to Denise... Hi gang! Can't believe it's Weds already. A few more days and we'll be back home. It's a rather gray day here in TJ. But still pleasant. We can actually hear the waves at night since we are only a few blocks from the beach. I am going back on the full supplement regimen today which is about 45 pills of various types including milk thistle, selenium, Pancreatin, thyroid, and COQ 10. The medical care here is very good and I also get a shot in the behind daily which is B12 and Liver. I am feeling very strong and completely recovered from the detox a few days ago. It has really been an extraordinary experience being here. I feel very fortunate to have heard of it. Lots of success stories!
Love to all! Denise and Hilary

Day 9 of my captivity ;-)

Hi family and friends,
I am up and about and feeling quite well since yesterday morning. They are slowly increasing my juice and enema intake again so that I can get the full benefit of the treatment. Hilary and I watched Bejamin Button and really enjoyed it. We have a DVD playr in our room--just like a hotel! It feels so good to be back on my feet and feeling "normal."
The other patients and their companions are so lovely and we have nice long meal times together in the dining room and really teach eachother and share information.

OK Denise just left to meet Dr Melendez and I (Hilary) am finishing up.

Denise is looking like her old self again and cracking jokes....we all laugh a lot here, the energy is great and people very positive...we laughed a lot yeaterday at Margit's attempt to teach me how to crochet!! Maybe you will all get pot holders at the end of the trip :)

Days just go by in their own sweet routine....juices, food and enemas!..it's amazing how much time that all takes
There really are some delightful folks here...a lady and her son from Japan, 2 couples from Canada, a couple from Romania, a lady and her daughter from New York but who is actually Dutch (her daughter leaves today and her so comes in). Each one has her/his own story but evryone is so kind and friendly.

so Denise is back now.... Hi again, yesterday a gentleman named Carlos came back for a 1 day visit and check up. He was here 3 months ago and has Prostate Cancer. He looks very well and all his markers are down, and it made us all feel hopeful. He is from Argentina but lives near Sacramento now. Thi really is an International place! Ok-- love to all and thanks again for all your kind thoughts and prayers. This really is quite an expereince and I am so glad I was able to make this journey! Denisita or Denisee

Changing of the guard

I left Baja Nutri Center shortly after Hillary arrived yesterday. What a wonderful experience! Thank you to everyone who offered their help, love and support over the last week. Denise has a wonderful group of friends and family.
When I left yesterday, Denise was feeling quite a bit better. Still a little nervous about eating, Denise did manage to get out of the room to enjoy the sunshine that finally graced us.
So it is a changing of the guard. Hillary will be spending this week with Denise. I'm sure they both will keep you posted.
Sending lots of love from Thousand Oaks,
t

Detoxing and phone calls

Denise just wanted me to say hello to everyone on her behalf. She is beginning to feel the effects of her detox today. As expected, she's feeling some nausea and aches and pains. She is still doing well but not feeling up to going about the premises. She's been spending much of the day resting in the room. Maybe next week she'll be able to catch the yoga and cooking class offered today. (I took copious notes for her though ;o)
FYI, if you are calling her cell phone, please note that she cannot access her voicemail nor is caller ID working. Perhaps the best way to reach her would be to text her and she can call or email you back. That, or call once to see if we catch you and follow up with a text... we always are missing the phone by a ring and we don't know who you are.
We will keep you posted as the weekend progresses.
Lots of love from Baja,
t
