our last day in Baja
i just wanted to share the last minutes at Gerson with you: Denise will have to inject daily when at home a mix of B12 and Liver....so here she is practicing on Dr Cervantes...who, as you can see, is a good sport.
so back to living in the real world...for me, not a lot of change, for Denise, a complete life change for the next couple of years.
right now Kim, her sister from Atlanta is with her for 10 days and followed by her sister Sandy....so hopefully they will get her routine established and then it will be up to us "Friends of Denise" to support her in any way we can.
the blog will be continued by Denise, so keep checking
over and out...Hilary
The Beautiful Truth
SEE THIS FILM: THE BEAUTIFUL TRUTH and google it and watch the trailers....you will get a good idea of Gerson Therapy and be shocked too, no doubt.
Below is the synopsis of the film:
Garrett is a 15-year old boy living in the Alaskan wilderness with a menagerie of orphaned animals. Growing up close with nature has given him
a deep understanding of nutritional needs required by diet sensitive animals on the reserve. Unfortunately, the untimely and tragic death of his mother propelled him into a downward spiral and he risked flunking out of school. This led to his father’s decision to home-school Garrett.
His first assignment was to study a controversial book written by Dr. Max Gerson.
Written over 50 years ago, Dr. Gerson found that diet could, and did, cure cancer. Controversial at the time (and even today),
Garrett took on the challenge of researching this amazing therapy, which drew the interest of his neighbors in the small Alaskan community.
With the help of Dr. Gerson’s daughter, Charlotte Gerson, and grandson, Howard Strauss, they gave him the ammunition needed to go in search
for the truth – a truth that would affect not only him, but his entire Alaskan village – all of whom wanted to know if these claims were true.
After a number of cancer patients, who were diagnosed as terminal, shared their stories and their medical records with Garrett, it became
abundantly clear that, contrary to the disinformation campaign spear-headed by the multi-billion dollar medical and pharmaceutical industry,
a cure for virtually all cancers and chronic diseases does exist – and has existed for over 80 years!
Garrett’s mission now is to tell the world.

On the road again!
Hi
Everyone; sorry not to have posted for a few days but it is SOOOO slow on the computer down here at weekends.
well....we are home bound this morning..and we are excited to be seeing our loved ones again but sad too to leave behind our new friends and community down here.
We had a fun few days; Saturday we went to Rosarita, a resort town just close by and wandered around a bit
Sunday was a really beautiful day weather wise and we went for a lovely walk to the beach..just 2 blocks away
the photos are of our outings and around here. Last night was so sweet, the kitchen staff did a special set up of the room for Denise's last night here.
the photos are of Denise, me and Martin and Margit; of me showing off my new http://www.blogger.com/posts.g?blogID=2194033047587564554crocheting skill...the hat will keep me warm up Mt Whitney later this summer! Denise and Yoshiko, that's everyone I think you've met by now. here's Denise
Hi all, I am so excited to be heading home shortly. I will miss my cancer buddies here but leave with great hope that they will be cured in the near future. It's been a fabulous journey being here. i am now well versed in the Gerson therapy and will be able to adapt it to my home life. It's a big change from my previous diet, but it's actually pretty diverse and the food is very good. Just have to get used to no salt. The shuttle come s here at 9:30 then we'll head up to San diego to pick up my car and drive to LAX where we pick up my sister Kim who is flying in from Atlanta.
I thank you all for your interest in my progress and plan to continue posting on the blog once I am back home. It's such a great way to keep in touch. Love you all and see you back home!
Love, Denise and Hilary

You Gotta Friend - The Janice M. Anderson Foundation
Hello everyone!
Tamara here. I just wanted to let you all know about a foundation I started as a tribute to my mom. As some of you may know, she too battled breast cancer through The Gerson Therapy. I feel that it gave her an additional 15 years. Not too shabby!!!
All that being said, I have started a blog for You Gotta Friend - The Janice M. Anderson Foundation and it is going to be featured in the next e-newsletter from the Gerson Institute. I have posted a little bit on Denise and all the other patients at the Baja Nutri Clinic.
If you are interested in finding out more about You Gotta Friend, check out the blog at gottafriend.blogspot.com. Please post your comments, questions or information. I'd love to hear from you.
All the best,
t

Hi Gang,
Hilary here...just finished our leisurely breakfast (my fave meal of the day) consisting of oatmeal, beautiful fresh fruit, toast, honey, yogurt..yum!
yesterday was much the same as the others....Denise continues to follow the regimen..she is a model patient:)
we had a cooking class in the afternoon....pretty easy stuff, but we did make oatmeal raisin cookies that are acceptable to the diet and OK to eat too; our instructor was Magaritte(see photo)
last night we had a fun evening of Canasta, Denise, me, Margit, Martin and Micheala....we laughed a lot and had so much fun...we are a competitive bunch; Denise said that both Tamara and I are so sweet and lovely until we get into the game situation...:)I don't know what she means!
Today's highlight is yoga at 11am...Denise missed it last week since she was so poorly then...but it is a different ballgame this week...she is bouncing around the place...then we have a Canasta rematch planned....Margit has sworn to beat me before Denise and I leave on Monday:)
the other photos on today's blog are Taka and his mother Naomi; Naomi is from japan and Taka lives in Calgary, Canada. He has taken 4 weeks off to be with his Mom who does not speak English...but has the most delightful spirit. Taka is a model son and his love for his Mom shines through. it is so wonderful for Naomi that Yashiko (from Toronto) is here at the same time ...she has someone to chat with.
The final photo is posted at the request of Margit; Martin is a dapper English gentleman with a sharp sense of wit and we laughed at him in this photo....it epitomizes a "gerson" patient....juice in one hand, enema bucket in the other!
Denise placed her order of supplements yesterday..so we are beginning to think about the return home....I know she is ready to be with her family and friends and pets again and we have learned all we need to continue the treatments at home now.
so....we hope you are all well and as happy as we are:)
we will continue to send you little updates daily
i would highly recommend you take a look at the website (processedpeople.com)....it is illuminating
much love
Hilary and of course Denise (who is 'busy' at the moment:)

hello all,
well, we are doing just splendidly here; Denise is truly vibrant and looking a feeling well.
yesterday we had a lecture from Charlotte Gerson; she is 87 years old and straight as a ramrod, no degenerative diseases, sharp as a tack and funny too....so i guess there is something to this lifestyle!!!!
our days as i said before are just filled with taking care of business, Denise is almost up to the full regimen now and doing just splendidly....our meal times are so lovely...we take about 90 minutes or more just eating and chatting with the other folks here
as you can see from the photo, we go through a lot of fruits and veggies every day here..and a lot from California, as you might expect.
the one in the dining room gives a glimpse of our lovely companions.
unfortunately today, Maria (from New York)(see photo from last week with her daughter Cynthia) decided to go home; she has a degenerative back disease, as well as lymphoma, and her back has been hurting her a lot (the beds are not the best and for her she could just not get comfortable) so she has learned what to do for the therapy at home and both of her kids have had the chance to be here with her and so she will be better in her own bed. we are sad to see her leave, but no sleep is not a good thing, so we understand her decision.
it is really great to see Alexander (from Romania) doing so well, when i arrived here on Sunday he was gray and looked really bad, and now in just a few days he has color and was smiling yesterday....his wife is just a doll, she spends a lot of the day with him in the room...he is still mostly in bed...but we have had the chance to chat with her at meal times. yesterday she showed us photos of their daughter who is 19 and dances with the Vienna Ballet Company....a beautiful girl.
As Denise said, everyone has their stories.
well today is gray and a little cooler so it might be indoor Canasta today:)
Denise and i were going to get a massage therapist in, but have decided we know enough to massage one another...i have training in this field so don't worry, i won't hurt her:)!!
we hope that all of you at home are well and happy
lots of love

Hi Gang
Hilary here; not a whole lot to report really Denise is doing much much better; back on the regimen and looking great.
i have to say i am feeling great too:)there is definitely something in this.
we had a couple of games of Canasta...i was playing with Martin (another Brit) and Denise was playing with his wife Margit......all i can say is "Rule Britannia"!!! we won by more than a 1000 points! needless to say there will be a rematch today:)
i just met Charlotte Gerson for the first time...what a powerhouse...she is so vibrant and looks amazing..she will hold a lecture later today..which i am looking forward to.
Over to Denise... Hi gang! Can't believe it's Weds already. A few more days and we'll be back home. It's a rather gray day here in TJ. But still pleasant. We can actually hear the waves at night since we are only a few blocks from the beach. I am going back on the full supplement regimen today which is about 45 pills of various types including milk thistle, selenium, Pancreatin, thyroid, and COQ 10. The medical care here is very good and I also get a shot in the behind daily which is B12 and Liver. I am feeling very strong and completely recovered from the detox a few days ago. It has really been an extraordinary experience being here. I feel very fortunate to have heard of it. Lots of success stories!
Love to all! Denise and Hilary

Day 9 of my captivity ;-)
Hi family and friends,
I am up and about and feeling quite well since yesterday morning. They are slowly increasing my juice and enema intake again so that I can get the full benefit of the treatment. Hilary and I watched Bejamin Button and really enjoyed it. We have a DVD playr in our room--just like a hotel! It feels so good to be back on my feet and feeling "normal."
The other patients and their companions are so lovely and we have nice long meal times together in the dining room and really teach eachother and share information.
OK Denise just left to meet Dr Melendez and I (Hilary) am finishing up.
Denise is looking like her old self again and cracking jokes....we all laugh a lot here, the energy is great and people very positive...we laughed a lot yeaterday at Margit's attempt to teach me how to crochet!! Maybe you will all get pot holders at the end of the trip :)
Days just go by in their own sweet routine....juices, food and enemas!..it's amazing how much time that all takes
There really are some delightful folks here...a lady and her son from Japan, 2 couples from Canada, a couple from Romania, a lady and her daughter from New York but who is actually Dutch (her daughter leaves today and her so comes in). Each one has her/his own story but evryone is so kind and friendly.
so Denise is back now.... Hi again, yesterday a gentleman named Carlos came back for a 1 day visit and check up. He was here 3 months ago and has Prostate Cancer. He looks very well and all his markers are down, and it made us all feel hopeful. He is from Argentina but lives near Sacramento now. Thi really is an International place! Ok-- love to all and thanks again for all your kind thoughts and prayers. This really is quite an expereince and I am so glad I was able to make this journey! Denisita or Denisee

Changing of the guard
I left Baja Nutri Center shortly after Hillary arrived yesterday. What a wonderful experience! Thank you to everyone who offered their help, love and support over the last week. Denise has a wonderful group of friends and family.
When I left yesterday, Denise was feeling quite a bit better. Still a little nervous about eating, Denise did manage to get out of the room to enjoy the sunshine that finally graced us.
So it is a changing of the guard. Hillary will be spending this week with Denise. I'm sure they both will keep you posted.
Sending lots of love from Thousand Oaks,

Detoxing and phone calls
Denise just wanted me to say hello to everyone on her behalf. She is beginning to feel the effects of her detox today. As expected, she's feeling some nausea and aches and pains. She is still doing well but not feeling up to going about the premises. She's been spending much of the day resting in the room. Maybe next week she'll be able to catch the yoga and cooking class offered today. (I took copious notes for her though ;o)
FYI, if you are calling her cell phone, please note that she cannot access her voicemail nor is caller ID working. Perhaps the best way to reach her would be to text her and she can call or email you back. That, or call once to see if we catch you and follow up with a text... we always are missing the phone by a ring and we don't know who you are.
We will keep you posted as the weekend progresses.
Lots of love from Baja,

News from Denise in Baja--Day 3
Tamara and I have been here for a few days now and have made some very nice friends. It is truly a global community here with folks from all over the world. We are eating lots of veggies, fruits and drinking the organic juices. I have to take many supplements which are helping to kill the cancer cells and build up my immune system. I have not had any adverse reactions; I just feel good, strong and healthy. In our spoare time we watch comedies and laugh. My regimen is pretty busy with lots of juicing, enemas, meals (3 a day) and some IV infusions. The days go by quickly and we are asleep by 10:30 and then up again at 7AM. We also pass some of the time by playing some games. New people come every day, while others are released and head back home. We met the nicest couple named Peter and Suki and they left for Germany yesterday. I was sorry to see them go. He was just diagnosed 3 weeks ago and has cancer in his bone marrow. They were so sweet and so funny, as well as very intelligent.
That gives you a little flavor for life here at the clinic. Charlotte Gerson came today and did a lecture which we attended. She also gave me some insight as to what I can expect in terms of a timeline. It was not great news, but important for me to hear. It will be a long road to full recovery--but I will recover! Love to all! Denise

Day Three
Hi all,
I met with Charlotte Gerson this morning. She told me it will take more than 2 years most likely to be fully healed. She said I have not started truly detoxing yet as there is so much chemo in my tissue and hiding in various organs that they have to go slowly with me. The regimen will help my body release toxins (chemo) but they do not want too much to be released at the same time because it will make the chemo go through my blood stream and it is not good to have too much of it at once. Once the detoxing starts as the chemo is released it will mimic some of the side effects I had when I took chemo including the vomiting, but that this is normal. That is why I am still feeling so good--because the detox has not really started yet. I am getting really good at the enemas and they aren't so bad after all.
I feel great on the diet so far and they are incrementally building my daily dosages up. She said that once I really start detoxing, I will feel sick and maybe even depressed and that is normal. But, she said I will need help at home because I will not have the energy or will feel well enough to shop or make all the juices , etc. This will be a long haul, not a quick fix, but it will be a permanent one. She said I am a miracle--that I have been able to withstand all these drugs (poisons) and still survive and actually look and feel healthy.
Tamara and I are enjoying meeting the other patients and making friends with them. Everyone is so nice and we fell like we're all in this together..
I have to go have an infusion of Laetril now--which is the apricot pit. So I must run. Hilary, you can put the above paragraphs on the blog for me if you will so everyone else can know what is going on.
Love you all and thanks for your love and support!

Into the groove
Denise will be posting soon.... I'm getting her all set up so you can hear directly from the woman herself. Today we've began to get into the groove of things around here. Early morning enema, breakfast for which we were starving, B Vitamin shots, weigh-ins and blood draws began the day. A short rest and then it was back for more supplements, another healthy lunch, a lecture on juicing and an energy session. We've been learning a lot on nutrition, supplements, refrigeration and vegetables... and that is just from the guests. Speaking of which, the guests here are wonderful, amazing people and true survivors. We are so lucky! The sun has finally peaked through the clouds which really is just icing on the cake. Stay tuned for more updates.
Sending lots of love from a finally sunny Baja!

Day one of captivity ;o)
We've arrived!!!! Denise and I made it quickly and safely to Baja NutriCare. Today we've been getting acquainted with the facility and guests. Unfortunately, the sun is not quite shining but we are happy to be here. Denise is already starting the treatments and we're enjoying VERY healthy dining. Hopefully, the pool will warm up or the weather will so we can dive in. We are hoping to have photos for you shortly... that is when and/if the internet connection accelerates. It's cooperating! It's cooperating!
Here I am lounging in our room while Denise reads up on Dr. Max Gerson... then I moved outside... Denise is still reading...
Cheers,
t
